About the position

The Senior Budget Analyst position at the Sullivan County Office of Management and Budget is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the preparation and analysis of the County Budget. The incumbent will conduct research, analyze financial reports, and work closely with various County departments to make informed recommendations regarding budget and office administration. This position also involves supervising and training fiscal personnel across divisions under the general supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Management and Budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and analysis of the County Budget.
• Conduct research and review methods and procedures of operating departments.
• Oversee county fiscal personnel in a division or across divisions.
• Supervise and train subordinates in budget-related activities.
• Collaborate with various County departments to provide budget recommendations.
• Participate in the forecasting and analysis of financial reports.

Requirements

• Master's Degree or higher in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting or Finance and four (4) years of relevant experience; or
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting or Finance and six (6) years of relevant experience; or
• An equivalent combination of training and experience.
