About the position

The Senior Budget Analyst will support the Airman Systems Directorate's Biomedical Impact of Flight Branch at Wright Patterson AFB, focusing on the Defense Health Program's Medical Human Performance initiatives. This role involves providing budgetary expertise, managing financial operations, and ensuring compliance with DoD policies throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of electronic products for project management and reporting to Division and Wing officials.
  • Provide budget analyst expertise for the medical funded Human Performance Research portfolio.
  • Implement administrative and monitoring support tools for budget management operations.
  • Utilize financial/programming data systems to generate reports and support analysis.
  • Assess budget execution across different types of funds and monitor contractor obligations and expenditures.
  • Develop and maintain the HP Portfolio's annual travel budget, forecasting and monitoring expenditures.
  • Work collaboratively with finance, contracting, and research teams to analyze project data.
  • Identify and implement corrective actions for budget issues and risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration/management, accounting, finance, or economics.
  • DAWIA career field certification (APDP Level I or higher) in Business - Cost Estimating or Financial Management.
  • Minimum five years of budget analyst/financial management experience in a DoD environment.
  • Minimum two years of experience with Comprehensive Cost and Requirements System (CCaR).
  • Experience with DoD program reviews, budget planning, and funding document requests.
  • Familiarity with Air Force Medical Service funding structure in CCAR preferred.
  • Understanding of fiscal restrictions/regulations and contract vehicles preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, management, and communication skills.
