The Senior Budget and Forecasting Analyst (Capital) at Tri-State is responsible for managing the Capital Forecasts and the Annual Capital Budget, along with conducting related variance analysis and reporting. This role involves preparing the Annual Capital Budget and overseeing the updates of forecasts, ensuring that capital projects are on target. The analyst will perform variance analyses at various levels to assess project performance and will engage in discussions with personnel responsible for budget entries to address any deviations. In this role, the analyst will balance imports and exports into the Oracle EPM capital application, support users in EPM with SmartView and Workspace, and ensure data validity, accuracy, and reasonableness. Monthly capital reports will be created and managed, and the analyst will calculate book closings and depreciation for the O&M budget, validating these figures with the accounting manager quarterly. The position also involves developing and preparing presentations and reports for senior management and the Board of Directors as needed. Backup duties for other analysts on the team and participation in ad hoc analytical requests and special projects are also part of the responsibilities. Due to the nature of Tri-State's operations as an electric utility, regular, reliable, and predictable performance of essential functions is critical. The ability to work overtime at any time of the day or week is considered an essential function of the job, reflecting the organization's commitment to providing continuous, reliable electric service to its customers.
