About the position

The Senior Budget Financial Applications Analyst at Boston College plays a crucial role in the Central Budget Office, reporting to the Assistant Director of Budget Analytics and LRFP Systems. This position is responsible for supporting report design, maintenance, analytics, research, and training within the Budget department and the Finance division. The analyst will assist in the development and maintenance of the University's Cost Allocation report and provide financial and technical support through various applications, including PeopleSoft Financials and Cognos tools.

Responsibilities

• Support report design and maintenance for the Budget department.
• Conduct analytics and research to assist in financial decision-making.
• Provide training on reporting tools and troubleshoot system issues.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of the University's Cost Allocation report.
• Create and maintain standard and ad hoc Budget reports as requested by Finance and Executive VP areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Five years of related experience in budget analysis or financial applications.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel skills strongly desired.
• Experience with reporting/query tools, specifically PeopleSoft Financials, Cognos TM1, and BI applications.
• Ability to assimilate and apply new technologies.
• Knowledge of general budgeting and accounting principles.
