Responsibilities

  • Provide engineered drawings for HVAC control systems.
  • Review specifications and contract drawings for assigned projects.
  • Provide accurate drawings for HVAC control systems and schematics using Visio.
  • Size control valves, dampers, air flow stations, and similar components for HVAC systems.
  • Design systems with typical DDC control lines such as Schneider Electric, Tridium, or similar.
  • Write and understand the sequence of operations for HVAC control systems.
  • Assemble submittals and O&Ms for projects.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or other STEM field with 3-5 years' experience in relevant field.
  • 4+ years' experience in controls design engineering OR 8+ years as a controls technician.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical circuits, HVAC, sensors and signal types, and controls required.
  • Familiarity with common control sequences including ASHRAE Guideline 36P.
  • Demonstrated capability drafting control drawings in Visio, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite required.
  • Ability to deal with a large volume of work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or other STEM field with 2-4 years' experience in relevant field.
  • Experience designing control systems using Schneider Electric EcoStruxure and SpaceLogic.
