About the position

The Senior Building Mechanical Engineer will lead the engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems for various facilities, with a focus on HyperScale and Colocation Data Centers. This role involves overseeing design and construction activities, conducting airflow modeling, and implementing sustainable design strategies. The position offers opportunities for professional development while contributing to significant infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems for various facilities.
  • Oversee design and construction activities including traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build methods.
  • Design HVAC and plumbing systems primarily for HyperScale and Colocation Data Centers.
  • Support design for additional areas such as administrative, warehouse, maintenance, and laboratory spaces.
  • Conduct Data Center airflow CFD modeling for interior and exterior spaces.
  • Perform energy audits, efficiency studies, and code reviews.
  • Apply sustainable design strategies and assist with LEED applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related work experience.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License required.
  • AP certified professional experienced in obtaining LEED certification for industrial buildings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic knowledge of NFPA standards.
  • Experience with HVAC system energy modeling for energy code compliance.
  • Familiarity with green building initiatives such as LEED and Green Globes.
  • Experience in large-scale water and air-cooled chiller plant design.
  • Knowledge of International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes and ASHRAE Handbooks/Standards.
