About the position

The City of Santa Fe Springs is seeking a highly-motivated individual for the position of Senior Bus Driver. This full-time role involves operating multi-passenger vans or buses safely and lawfully, providing transportation services primarily to senior and disabled patrons. The position requires interaction with passengers and maintaining a schedule for assigned trips, ensuring a courteous and professional service at all times.

Responsibilities

• Skillfully operates multi-passenger van or bus in a safe and lawful manner.
• Provides transportation to senior and disabled patrons to and from various locations.
• Interacts with passengers in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assists patrons entering and exiting the vehicle, including the elderly and handicapped with wheelchairs.
• Assists passengers with packages.
• Provides transportation to city affiliated clubs and committees for city sponsored programs.
• Fuels vehicles and adds fluids as necessary.
• Performs routine safety checks and vehicle housekeeping maintenance, including washing and cleaning buses.
• Maintains time schedule for all assigned trips.
• Prepares daily reports and keeps records.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent certificate recognized by the State of California.
• Two (2) years experience driving a vehicle requiring a Commercial Class C Driver's License.
• A valid State of California Commercial Class C Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement, with no points in at least three (3) years.
• Current Medical Certificate.
