About the position

The Senior Business Analyst in Digital Operations at Mayo Clinic plays a pivotal role in supporting product teams by providing tools and processes that align with organizational needs. This position involves a thorough evaluation of current Intake and Governance processes to identify areas for improvement. The Senior Business Analyst will conduct detailed analyses and gather requirements for the design and development of innovative solutions related to Intake and Governance, which may include tool modifications. This role is essential in executing operations enablement tools strategy and best practices, as well as supporting tools administration and visualization development. In this capacity, the Senior Business Analyst will collaborate closely with the Transformation Strategy & Translation team, analyzing critical connections to the transformation hub, service blueprint, and digital capabilities model. This ensures a consistent and connected execution across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a strong curiosity to solve problems, demonstrating critical thinking abilities that allow them to visualize details in relation to the broader organizational picture. Experience with Aha! is preferred, and the individual will be trained to provide backup support as necessary. The role encompasses providing business analysis services at various levels, understanding both the business and technical needs of customers to deliver quality products or processes that meet business objectives. The Senior Business Analyst will examine costs, benefits, and risks associated with proposed investments or projects, recommending alternative solutions throughout the business lifecycle. They will work collaboratively with stakeholders to synthesize, articulate, and document business objectives and requirements, applying system and analytical thinking methodologies. A proficient understanding of business strategy and planning principles is essential, as the analyst will contribute to project charters, plans, work assignments, and target dates. The position also involves applying systems engineering methodologies throughout the project lifecycle, performing data analysis, defining and documenting business requirements, and supporting the translation to functional specifications early in the development cycle. The Senior Business Analyst will assist project leaders in coordinating the deployment of deliverables, demonstrating strong analytical thinking capabilities and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support product teams with tools and processes that meet organizational needs.
  • Evaluate current Intake and Governance processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Complete detailed analysis and requirements for designing and developing innovative solutions related to Intake and Governance.
  • Execute operations enablement tools strategy and best practices.
  • Support tools administration and visualization development.
  • Partner with Transformation Strategy & Translation to analyze critical connections into the transformation hub, service blueprint, and digital capabilities model.
  • Provide business analysis services at local, institutional, or enterprise levels.
  • Examine costs, benefits, and risks associated with proposed investments/projects and recommend alternatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and users to synthesize, articulate, and document business objectives and requirements.
  • Contribute to project charter and plans, work assignments, target dates, and other aspects of assigned projects.
  • Apply systems engineering methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform data analysis, define and document business requirements, and support translation to functional specifications.
  • Assist project leaders in coordinating deployment of deliverables.
  • Build credibility, rapport, and partnerships with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide conflict resolution and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience in business analysis, business administration, engineering, information science, health or science-related field OR Master's degree and 2 years of experience in the same fields.
  • CBAP Certified Business Analysis Professional, CCBA Certification of Competency in Business Analysis, or PMI-PBA Professional in Business Analysis preferred.
