About the position

The Senior Business Analyst in the Department of Information Resources at UT Southwestern plays a crucial role in supporting the Epic Resolute Hospital Billing module within the Revenue Cycle. This position is integral to the multidisciplinary research facility, which is renowned for its commitment to excellence, innovation, and teamwork. The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks including the build, support, maintenance, workflow development, and reporting/data analysis of key features and components of the Epic module. The role requires maintaining competency in relevant applications and technologies, participating in system maintenance, and utilizing analytical skills for issue resolution, enhancement development, project participation, and version upgrades. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business systems and project management, with at least five years of experience in systems or project development, testing, installation, and training. The Senior Business Analyst will manage projects, serve as the primary customer contact, and define and maintain project plans and schedules. They will monitor compliance with project scope, timelines, and deliverables, providing regular status reports to both customers and internal management. Additionally, the role involves assisting lower-grade business analysts in coordinating projects, collecting and documenting specifications for software applications, and developing operational plans for both new and existing applications. In this position, the Senior Business Analyst will also coordinate testing of new applications and changes to existing applications, ensuring the integrity and quality of data while providing training to system users. They will define and develop test scenarios, document and track application errors, and assist in analyzing and resolving problems. The role includes compiling comprehensive policies and operational procedures, developing new system administrative procedures, and monitoring the development of specifications for various projects. The Senior Business Analyst may also supervise lower-level analysts and is expected to perform other duties as assigned.

• Coordinates testing of new applications and changes to ensure data integrity and quality.
• Defines and develops test scenarios.
• Documents and tracks application errors and related issues.
• Assists programmers and lower-grade business analysts in problem resolution.
• Compiles comprehensive policies and operational procedures.
• Develops new system administrative procedures based on system changes.
• Assists in developing and implementing business strategies to improve operations.
• Monitors development of specifications and establishes priorities for design and testing.
• Reviews, develops, recommends, and implements assigned activities, programs, or functions.
• Maintains and tracks accounts assigned to projects or programs.
• Develops and maintains project plans and provides status reports.
• Records time spent on projects to meet cost-recovery requirements.
• May supervise lower-level analysts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, or related field.
• Five (5) years of business systems and/or project experience.
• Experience with systems or project development, testing, installation, and training.
• Experience and certification in Epic modules: Epic Resolute HB, Epic HB Claims Administration.
