About the position

The Senior Business Analyst - Payments is responsible for analyzing technology systems and processes to identify and design improvements within the payments domain. This role involves coordinating with engineering teams to develop cost-effective solutions for complex projects, translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications, and ensuring operational readiness of applications. The analyst will also engage in testing, documentation, and provide project management assistance to ensure timely delivery of projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze technology systems and related processes to identify and design improvements.
• Coordinate with engineering/systems team to develop cost-effective solutions on complex, high-impact efforts.
• Translate business requirements to functional and technical requirements.
• Define minimum feature set, acceptance criteria, and user acceptance tests.
• Engage in design and impact assessments.
• Contribute to planning and implementation for new applications and systems.
• Perform configuration of application components.
• Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements for underperforming areas.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of applications to drive resolution of cross-application troubleshooting or problem-solving across teams and systems.
• Document technical solutions to identified problems.
• Engage with engineers to design/configure solutions.
• Assist in testing and participate in test phases prior to UAT.
• Update technical specs based on testing, prioritized defects, or post-release lessons learned.
• Support communication for application/system deployment.
• Ensure application availability and SLAs for operational readiness.
• Provide QA direction, oversight, and coordination as needed.
• Provide Project Management assistance in ensuring roadblocks are cleared and deadlines are met.
• Provide SME services to other technical and business teams.
• Design system interface and data extract solutions.
• Provide system diagrams as required for current, interim, future state.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years systems analysis experience.
• Experience creating technical specifications and documentation for large, complex projects.
• Knowledge of various project lifecycle methodologies (waterfall, agile, etc.).
• Proven experience with application configuration.
• Proven experience with system/application implementation.
• Experience in Payments, Fraud Protection and/or Asset Protection industry.
