About the position

The Senior Strategic Process Systems Analyst plays a crucial role within the workflow strategic process team, acting as a bridge between IT and business operations. This position is responsible for engaging with end-user groups and management to gather user requirements and develop functional specifications for digital solutions. The analyst will work closely with other analysts, developers, and designers to ensure that system functionalities align with business requirements and compliance standards. This role encompasses a variety of tasks including application code development, configuration, support, testing, documentation, and training. As a senior member of the team, the analyst will take a broader perspective to identify innovative solutions, lead and assign work to other analysts, and perform complex tasks with some oversight. This includes developing business cases, experience storyboards, personas, and managing digital requirements while contributing to system deliverables and user documentation. In this role, the analyst will engage with cross-departmental teams to transform business requirements into user and functional requirements for various workflow technologies, including but not limited to Pega Platform, OnBase, and Microsoft Access. The analyst will also provide daily technology support, document business needs for digital project deliverables, and maintain clear and executable software requirements specifications. Additionally, the analyst will be responsible for developing test plans, conducting thorough user acceptance testing, and ensuring that product deployments do not result in system outages or client impact. The role requires collaboration with project managers to ascertain project task estimates, deadlines, and deliverables while simultaneously managing multiple projects. The analyst will perform gap analysis and define strategies for gap closure, gaining consensus and approval on final requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Engage cross departmental teams to transform business requirements into user and functional requirements for workflow technologies.
  • Provide daily technology support, including new development setup or application configuration.
  • Work with UI/UX designers and technology teams to document business needs for digital project deliverables.
  • Write and maintain clear, complete, and executable software requirements specifications.
  • Verify that technical design specifications meet user requirements.
  • Develop test plans and conduct thorough user acceptance and functional testing.
  • Conduct problem analysis and prepare recommendations for action under the direction of lead analyst or value stream owner.
  • Partner with project manager to ascertain project task estimates, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Perform gap analysis and define gap closure strategies.
  • Gain consensus and approval on final requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years prior project management experience, including experience creating software requirements specifications and application configuration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at multiple levels across the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize resources and tasks in a fast-paced changing environment, highly analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Power User of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access).
  • Strong consultative interpersonal and relationship-building skills, able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical project team members.
  • Strong experience creating user stories defining business needs for digital solutions.
  • Effective written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive experience creating business documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio.

Nice-to-haves

  • Deep background in retirement plan administration preferred or 2-3 years business process management experience.
  • Pega Certifications - Business Architect Preferred or 3-5 years Pega or business process management experience.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of diverse departments and individuals, both internal and externally facing.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and end users.
  • Ability to define problems, assemble and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Experience working in Retirement Services.
  • Experience with XML structures, smart forms, SQL, OnBase, and Salesforce applications.
