About the position

The Senior Business Analyst at UNICEF USA plays a crucial role in supporting technology initiatives within the newly established Technology Project Management Office. This position involves gathering and documenting business requirements, analyzing business processes, and performing quality assurance testing. The analyst will collaborate with various cross-functional teams to drive project success and foster a culture of accountability and excellence, contributing to UNICEF's mission of creating a more equitable world for children.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Business Requirements Documents (BRD) and Functional Specification Documents (FSD) based on stakeholder interviews.
  • Convert business requirements into detailed user stories for the development team.
  • Develop detailed business process documentation using visualization tools as needed.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing and project acceptance, and manage project hand-offs to operational teams.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test scripts for quality assurance (QA) testing.
  • Refine tasks in the backlog with Technology team members to ensure clarity.
  • Lead and manage working sessions to facilitate collaboration and project progress.
  • Assist Senior Project Managers in developing project plans for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and dependencies to keep projects on track.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring strong relationships and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives for project management processes.
  • Participate in post-project reviews to assess lessons learned and enhance future project outcomes.
  • Maintain project governance standards and policies adhering to best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience supporting technology projects in matrixed environments.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with constituent relationship management (CRM) systems, preferably Blackbaud CRM.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel for complex data analysis.
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience creating BRDs and FSDs.
  • Experience using Jira or similar tools for tracking technical workstreams.
  • Experience creating and managing PowerBI reports for actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of Agile and traditional project management principles.
  • Proficiency in visualization tools such as Miro and Mural.
