About the position

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for planning, implementing, and deploying academic information systems and other enterprise systems at UCSF. This role focuses on enhancing existing systems to meet administrative and academic needs, particularly in managing academic appointments, research compliance, and financial systems. The analyst will lead discussions with various stakeholders, oversee technical teams, and manage small initiatives, applying advanced analytical skills to resolve complex issues and achieve organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and deploy academic information systems and enterprise systems.
  • Enhance existing systems to address administrative and academic needs.
  • Lead group discussions with departmental staff and senior management.
  • Oversee activities of technical programmers and analysts working on the Advance Faculty Information System.
  • Project manage small initiatives related to business application development.
  • Collaborate with various UCSF business units and stakeholders.
  • Apply advanced business process and analytical skills to resolve complex issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training.
  • 5+ years of relevant progressive experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
  • Proven experience in process analysis, systems analysis, and implementation planning.
  • Familiarity with methodologies like Waterfall, Agile, and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Expertise in software design principles and frameworks.
  • Proficiency with Visio, Lucidchart, Git, Jira, Smartsheet, and Confluence.
  • Strong problem-solving and testing skills.
  • Proven experience in project management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduate degree in Business or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Agile certification.
  • Experience with IT in large organizations.
  • Knowledge of Academic information systems and HR Policy.
