About the position

Halvik is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with agile experience to join our project team. This role is crucial for ensuring project success through effective product backlog management and supporting project meetings and communication. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, capable of leading efforts to document business and technical requirements, and will work closely with product management to refine user stories and manage the product backlog throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to elicit and document business and technical requirements as User Stories, Features, and Epics in a Product Backlog.
• Partner with Product Management to understand business/technology needs and create/refine user stories.
• Manage the Product Backlog to ensure all User Stories have a definition of done and are fully testable.
• Participate in refinement, story pointing, sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Document process flows for current, transition, and future states, identifying and analyzing gaps.
• Write functional and non-functional requirements in the form of acceptance criteria using the GHERKIN method.
• Conduct sprint and system demos focusing on delivered value and soliciting actionable feedback.
• Develop and present routine and ad hoc project management reports.
• Ensure all project guidance, work products, and related documents are updated and posted to a common document repository.
• Assist in the preparation of client and system user documentation, including user manuals and system administration manuals.
• Identify and assess process and operational inefficiencies, and develop recommendations for business process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or related experience.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance; US Citizen or Green Card EAD is required.
• 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, with a strong focus on IT projects.
• Proven experience working in Agile environments and leading Agile ceremonies.
• Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proven experience in documenting business processes, developing user stories, and managing a Product Backlog over multiple releases.
• Experience working with Jira, Azure DevOps, or other agile management tools.
