About the position

The Senior Business Analyst at American Auto Shield plays a crucial role in defining technology solutions by collaborating with stakeholders to understand business strategies and processes. This position is responsible for documenting necessary functionalities to address business challenges and leading efforts to identify operational, financial, and technological risks. The role also involves improving business processes and workflows through observation and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership to team members and peers through collaboration and initiates cross-functional projects
  • Participates in Agile ceremonies and maintaining Agile artifacts
  • Communicates with developers, users, and stakeholders to gather thorough requirements, provide status updates, lead product design discussions, and any other pertinent notifications
  • Develops and utilizes standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirements specifications
  • Works with stakeholders and project team to understand business value and priority of requested feature changes
  • Participates in the QA of purchased and developed solutions to ensure features and functions have been implemented accurately
  • Translates conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team
  • Communicates changes or modifications of business requirements to project teams so that risks and scope changes can be mitigated
  • Creates and maintains updated documentation on solution functionality, data organization, and business reporting
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Eight to ten years related work experience
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, data modeling, verification, and methodology development
  • Data Analysis and Visualization - SQL proficiency preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Technical proficiencies with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor's degree required

Nice-to-haves

  • IIBA certifications preferred
  • Agile Certified Product Owner preferred
