About the position

The Senior Business Banking Relationship Manager at Amalgamated Bank is responsible for driving new business development and managing a portfolio of clients with annual revenues between $1MM and $10MM. This role involves cross-selling a full range of banking products and services, evaluating credit requests, and providing high-level service to existing clients. The position emphasizes collaboration with bank partners and community engagement to foster business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct active prospecting and business development activities to identify/source new loan, deposit and cash management services
  • Manage and proactively call existing Business Banking clients, expanding their relationship by providing high-level service and recommending bank products
  • Represent the bank by participating in networking and community service activities
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of Centers of Influence that actively refer Business Banking opportunities
  • Evaluate credit requests, determine eligibility, and recommend appropriate loan structures that meet client needs
  • Submit complete documentation packages and analysis
  • Utilize prescribed sales techniques and achieve agreed calling and activity targets
  • Collaborate with other lines of business to ensure clients' specific needs are met
  • Cross-sell additional Amalgamated Bank products to business owners
  • Achieve assigned goals

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field; MBA preferred
  • 5 years of bank lending sales experience and a minimum of 1 year of credit analysis experience
  • Ability to provide detailed credit analysis to support proposed loan structures
  • Passion to support small businesses in the defined area
  • Highly proficient financial analysis skills, including financial modeling and understanding of financial data
  • Strong verbal, written, inter-personal, and public presentation skills
  • Proven organizational skills; able to work independently and be detail-oriented
  • Ability to work well on a team with different personalities and remain composed under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple transactions simultaneously
