About the position

The FSI-GTMS (Go-To-Market-Specialist) at Amazon Web Services (AWS) plays a pivotal role in shaping the financial services industry's strategy on AWS. This position is designed to assist sales leaders, account teams, and customers in organizing and executing a tailored strategy that drives business value through the cloud. The specialist will provide industry-specific advice and support to customers, particularly focusing on how they can securely and efficiently migrate to AWS. This role is crucial as financial services customers often seek prescriptive guidance from experienced specialists to understand the nuances of cloud adoption and innovation. In this role, you will be responsible for driving new business in the Property & Casualty (P&C) and Life insurance sectors. You will lead the organization in effectively selling into these industries, developing programs that facilitate the transition of customers from legacy on-premises environments to AWS-based services. Your specialized knowledge will bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions, ensuring that you can communicate effectively with customers about their regulatory and compliance requirements. You will be instrumental in driving top-line revenue growth and enhancing customer adoption across various market segments, from insurtech startups to large insurers and brokers. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with AWS solutions architects, professional services, and security and compliance teams to promote cloud best practices. This includes developing use cases that address security, resiliency, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development within the insurance sector, with a proven track record of engaging with senior executives and supporting account teams in solution sales. A deep understanding of the insurance landscape, including expertise in core systems such as policy administration, claims, and billing, is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business in P&C/Life insurance sectors.
  • Lead the organization to effectively sell into the insurance industry.
  • Develop programs to accelerate customer migration from legacy systems to AWS services.
  • Provide industry-specific advice and support to customers.
  • Enable AWS Financial Services field teams to enhance interactions with key prospects and customers.
  • Collaborate with AWS solutions architects and professional services to promote cloud best practices.
  • Develop use cases focusing on security, resiliency, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • 10+ years of insurance industry experience within insurers, software vendors, or system integrators.
  • 10+ years of professional or military experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the overall insurance landscape.
  • Expertise across the insurance value chain including policy administration, claims, and billing.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS or MBA preferred.
  • Experience with API middleware and integration layers.
  • Experience working with or selling to Fortune 500 organizations.
