About the position

The Senior Business Development Manager for Alternative Fuels at Caterpillar, Inc. is responsible for developing and scaling solutions in the alternative fuels sector, including hydrogen, biofuels, and renewables. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, creating unique solutions for customers, and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver integrated offerings that enhance Caterpillar's market position in sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new opportunities for Caterpillar in the alternative fuels value chain.
  • Create and execute unique alternative fuels solutions for customers across various industries.
  • Develop scalable solutions that can be leveraged across multiple customers.
  • Oversee the deployment of new business venture ideas through incubation teams and go-to-market partners.
  • Identify alternative fuels ecosystem partners to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external suppliers to enhance product offerings.
  • Create commercial structures to ensure positive economic outcomes for Caterpillar and partners.
  • Provide technical and commercial requirements for successful solution deployments.
  • Evaluate and manage participation in Hydrogen hubs or alternative fuel supply development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong background in hydrogen, refining, or petrochemicals.
  • Extensive experience in data gathering and analysis methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders.
  • Experience in negotiating and managing relationships with clients and vendors.
  • Proven strategic thinking capabilities and decision-making skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA
  • Experience launching fueling solutions and overseeing fuel infrastructure deployment.
  • Regulatory knowledge of EU and US markets.
