About the position

The Senior Business Development Manager position at Fluence is focused on driving sales for the company's optimization and algorithm bidding software, Mosaic, within the North American energy market. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with key accounts, managing proposals, and leading sales strategies to secure new orders. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background in Enterprise SaaS solutions, particularly in the renewable energy sector, and will work collaboratively with various teams to ensure customer needs are met and sales targets are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for new order booking for the Fluence Digital business in the North America region with primary focus on Mosaic.
  • Own relationships with key accounts active in the region, including investor-owned utilities, retailers, and independent power producers.
  • Manage proposals and lead overall proposal activities for customers' Requests for Proposal.
  • Track customers' readiness to engage Fluence Digital; maintain accurate records in Fluence Digital's customer relationship management system.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Product Managers and Marketing to create and maintain sales collateral that resonates with customers and prospects.
  • Track maturation of Fluence Digital's competitive environment to inform positioning, product offering, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Summarize customer's technical perspective to assist Sales, Marketing, Product and Technology in understanding the voice of the customer.

Requirements

  • 7 or more years of work experience, with at least 3 years in North American Energy Markets (ERCOT, CAISO, MISO preferred).
  • Experience with origination, structuring, negotiating, contract execution, and settlement in power marketing, procurement, trading, or project finance roles.
  • Strong understanding of US Energy market rules and fundamentals.
  • Experience working with retail electric providers, independent power producers, utilities, and traders.
  • Sales/Business Development/Product Management experience with large enterprise customers in the renewable energy or technology industry.
  • Experience and knowledge of BESS capabilities and value streams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially in client-facing contexts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in pre-sales or sales role, working collaboratively with Sales Teams.
  • MBA preferred.
