About the position

This role will support the newly formed Member Analytics Team under the Enterprise Data & Analytics division of the Member Strategy Office. The primary focus of this position is to provide both quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to leadership, thereby supporting enterprise and member strategy. The successful candidate will analyze business problems and issues using business intelligence and data science tools that incorporate data from both internal and external sources. This position requires working under minimal supervision and utilizing a complete understanding of business needs and objectives to make impactful recommendations that contribute to the achievement of operational goals. An advanced skill set and proficiency with cloud data querying, data manipulation, and analysis techniques are essential for this role. The responsibilities include collecting, aggregating, and analyzing data from multiple sources, including structured and unstructured data sets, to drive insights into business performance. The candidate will identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns and prepare ongoing reports and data visualizations to support business decisions. Additionally, the role involves developing, maintaining, and managing data products such as model predictions and created features. The candidate will produce actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement in current operations, and display root cause analysis of problems. Using analytics and metrics, the candidate will improve processes and provide data-driven forecasts of potential costs, risks, and profits of new business initiatives. Communication of findings and insights to stakeholders, along with providing business strategy recommendations for optimizing business performance, is a critical aspect of this role. The candidate will also provide reporting solutions and respond to ad-hoc report requests within the business area, create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs, and build working relationships with team members and subject matter experts. Leading small projects and initiatives is also part of the responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in data analysis and reporting
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of business area/specialization
  • Advanced skill with data analysis tools and programming languages, such as PySpark/Python or R, and SQL
  • Advanced skill using statistical methods, mathematical techniques, forecasting, cost-benefit analysis
  • Advanced skill in complex data manipulation across multiple tables
  • Effective data integration, cleaning and validation skills
  • Skill communicating data analysis and visualizations to nontechnical and senior audiences
  • Analytical research skills
  • Interpersonal skills - creative thinker, open-minded, collaborative, curious, empathetic, and has a diverse perspective
  • Intermediate skill in utilizing work products to tell a story through appropriate balance of visualizations, design aesthetics, and words
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong project management experience in business analytics for strategy development and support
  • Strong strategic communicator (extensive experience developing and delivering executive-level presentations)
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical documentation
  • Experience in a consultancy role (i.e., consulting and collaborating with internal or external clients to support data-driven decisions)
