About the position

The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst will collaborate closely with leaders and specialists from the Credit Admin, Credit Risk, and Model Development teams to understand their business goals and needs. This role is pivotal in translating these requirements into actionable solution designs that focus on driving business value and achieving positive outcomes. The incumbent will be responsible for developing a consistent and coherent set of analytical tools, which includes the design, development, implementation, and control of models for credit risk. Key areas of focus will include portfolio stress testing and Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) accounting, which are essential for the Allowance for Credit Loss and concentration correlation analyses. In this capacity, the Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst will take on lead analyst roles in various BI projects, driving the definition of requirements, documentation efforts, and, when necessary, report creation and queries to support the Credit Admin team's needs. This position serves as a crucial liaison among stakeholders and project teams, enhancing the performance of the Data team. The role involves interviewing stakeholders to identify business needs, analyzing business processes, and recommending changes that improve outcomes. The analyst will also be responsible for building and maintaining documentation libraries to ensure that documentation is readily available for management, regulators, and auditors. Additionally, the analyst will monitor data environment builds and executions, develop quantitative models beyond CECL, and lead the development of predictive analytical tools and visual reporting. They will translate business goals and user needs into data management functions, ensuring data quality and compliance with governance procedures. The role requires a strong understanding of enterprise data management and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve data issues effectively. Overall, the Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst plays a vital role in driving data-driven decision-making within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop consistent and coherent models and analytical tools for credit risk measurement, management, and reporting.
  • Interview stakeholders to identify business needs and translate these into requirements and solution designs.
  • Analyze business processes and recommend changes to improve outcomes.
  • Build and maintain documentation libraries for management and regulatory needs.
  • Monitor data environment builds, executions, and change implementations.
  • Develop quantitative modeling for loss forecasting, predictive risk rating models, and profitability analysis.
  • Lead the development and implementation of predictive analytical tools and visual reporting.
  • Translate business goals and user needs into data management functions and requirements.
  • Explain the value and limitations of data systems to business managers and users.
  • Lead project designs, wireframes, and mockups of analytic dashboards and reports.
  • Analyze and structure data to implement enterprise data management goals.
  • Ensure data quality by validating data and completing quality assurance testing.
  • Follow Data Governance procedures to manage data processes effectively.
  • Work with enterprise data warehouse and analytical cubes to provide business insights.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data issues.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Finance, Statistics, or a Quantitative field required with CECL experience; or Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Statistics, Quantitative field, or Information Technology with experience in credit administration, CECL, and data.
  • 6-8 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Banking or Financial Institution.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Credit/Current Expected Credit Loss/Credit Portfolio Monitoring.
  • 2-3 years of knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Python, and R.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to analyze data using Microsoft Excel or equivalent tools.
  • Knowledge of working with any data warehouse system and master data management (MDM) systems.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, e.g., Dynamics CRM, and Microsoft SharePoint.
