About the position

The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer at Staples plays a crucial role in driving business performance through data analysis and insights. This position involves developing and maintaining high-quality analytics solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leveraging various data visualization tools to support pricing strategies and operational goals. The developer will also conduct deep-dive analyses, build predictive models, and continuously improve analytics infrastructure to enhance decision-making processes across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scalable, high-quality analytics solutions, reports, and visually compelling dashboards that meet business requirements.
  • Leverage SQL, ETL processes, and data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI to manage, analyze, and transform data into actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and deliver analytics solutions that support pricing strategies and operational goals.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses on business trends, pricing performance, and customer behaviours to inform decision-making.
  • Build and maintain predictive models to support forecasting, pricing strategies, and business optimization.
  • Partner closely with the Bid Operations team to provide key insights into win rates, profitability, and SLAs, using data-driven analysis to uncover opportunities and shape strategies for improved outcomes.
  • Continuously improve and automate data pipelines, workflows, and reporting capabilities to enhance analytics infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, providing technical solutions to ensure data accessibility and usability.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to innovate, improving our reporting and analytics capabilities.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses as required to support business needs.

Requirements

  • At least 3+ years of relevant analytics experience, ideally within Revenue Management or Pricing Analytics.
  • Strong quantitative skills and proven experience with statistics, analytics, and working with databases to generate insights that drive measurable business value.
  • Hands-on experience with data wrangling and transformation tools such as Alteryx.
  • Proficiency with business intelligence platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Ability to translate complex data findings into actionable insights and recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or analytical field (e.g., computer science, information systems, statistics, or a related discipline).
  • Working knowledge of big data technologies and analytics platforms, with Snowflake experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay current with BI tools and emerging trends like AI-driven analytics and machine learning.
  • Familiarity with Python or similar scripting languages for advanced analytics is a plus.
