About the position

The Service Fund team at Humana is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Data Analyst who will play a crucial role in supporting the expansion of value-based programs. This position involves working with large datasets and applying analytical skills to derive actionable insights that drive data-driven results. The ideal candidate will collaborate with both internal and external partners to ensure that deadlines are met and that financial transactions are executed with high accuracy. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about utilizing a suite of tools to measure financial results and can effectively communicate findings to various stakeholders. In this position, the Senior Business Intelligence Data Analyst will be responsible for the development, implementation, and valuation of new programs, as well as maintaining existing programs. The analyst will utilize complex SQL, Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, and other technical skills to drive process improvements and assist markets in managing their value-based relationships. The role also includes conducting research and producing reports on key performance metrics, which will provide insights into how data reconciles and its implications for current and potential programs. Additionally, the analyst will assist in producing reports and completing ad hoc requests using tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Azure Synapse Analytics. They will provide support for payments to value-based specialists and aid in the evaluation and expansion of all value-based programs into new markets and business areas. Responsibilities

  • Work with large volume datasets to derive actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and valuation of new value-based programs.
  • Maintain current value-based programs and ensure their effectiveness.
  • Utilize complex SQL, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Power BI to drive process improvements.
  • Conduct research and produce reports on key performance metrics.
  • Provide insights into data reconciliation and its implications for programs.
  • Assist in producing reports and completing ad hoc requests using Excel and PowerPoint.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 2+ years of data analytics and reporting experience.
  • 2+ years of advanced experience developing complex SQL queries.
  • Advanced Excel skills including VLookups and Pivot Tables.
  • Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Ability to compile, model, interpret, and analyze data to identify trends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Financial or actuarial background.
  • Experience with data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Proficiency in understanding healthcare-related data.
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or Computer Science.
