About the position

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer at Providence is responsible for designing, creating, and managing business intelligence and analytics solutions that transform data into actionable insights. This role requires a strong background in data analysis, Agile methodologies, and project management, along with excellent communication skills. The developer will work extensively with SQL and Python to support the database infrastructure necessary for complex analytic processing, ensuring that business needs are thoroughly assessed and addressed. Ultimately, the role aims to enhance Providence's business intelligence capabilities to facilitate informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop BI and analytics solutions to turn data into knowledge.
• Create and manage advanced SQL and Python procedures for database infrastructure.
• Provide data interfaces with external databases and support report production.
• Assess business needs behind requests for new programming functionality.
• Enhance business intelligence capabilities to support informed decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• Master's Degree with three years of experience in an analytic or technical role working with multiple data systems.
• 8 years of experience in programming using SQL.
• 4 years of experience using data visualization software such as Tableau, Power BI, or SSRS.
• Proven experience with database management and statistical representation of data.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in a related field.
• 4 years of experience programming using Python.
• 8 years of experience programming using SQL or Snowflake and SSIS.
• Background in data mining and data modeling.
• Experience in healthcare or health insurance.
