About the position

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer at Vaya Health is responsible for designing, architecting, and implementing complex business intelligence solutions. This role involves working independently and collaboratively to elicit requirements, create specifications, and deliver visually compelling reporting solutions. The developer will lead specialized projects, mentor other BI developers, and ensure adherence to industry security standards while handling confidential healthcare information.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement BI solutions to support strategic initiatives and business requirements.
• Perform requirements analysis and provide specifications for end-user requested BI solutions.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing and ensure end-user satisfaction with developed products.
• Monitor the health and performance of BI systems and communicate potential service problems.
• Participate in professional development activities to stay competitive in the field.
• Develop and execute industry security standards related to BI development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
• 5 - 7 years of experience in BI development and architecture.
• Extensive development skills in Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL, SSRS, and SSIS.
• Experience in developing BI solutions such as reports, ETL, and data visualizations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
• Experience in gathering business and technical requirements and documenting specifications.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including mentoring and collaboration.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI for data visualizations.
• Experience working within an agile development process.
• Experience using Git for source code control.
