About the position

The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and maintenance of our Business Intelligence solutions. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and visualization techniques to effectively support the organization's strategic decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality BI solutions. In this role, the Senior BI Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex data models that ensure accurate and efficient reporting and analytics. The candidate will design, develop, and optimize ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the BI environment. Additionally, the developer will create, maintain, and enhance dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using tools such as Tableau or similar platforms. Ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across the BI environment is crucial, and the candidate will adhere to data governance best practices to achieve this. Performance optimization is another key responsibility, where the Senior BI Developer will monitor and enhance the performance of BI solutions to ensure minimal latency and maximum responsiveness. This role is essential for driving data-driven decision-making within the organization and requires a blend of technical expertise and soft skills to navigate a fast-paced environment effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain complex data models that support accurate and efficient reporting and analytics.
  • Design, develop, and optimize ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the BI environment.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using tools like Tableau or similar platforms.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across the BI environment by adhering to data governance and best practices.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of BI solutions, ensuring minimal latency and maximum responsiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in BI development, with a strong focus on data reporting, visualization, data modeling, and ETL.
  • Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau or similar platform.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with databases like MySQL, Redshift, SQL Server, etc.
  • Experience with ETL tools.
  • Experience with Databricks is preferred.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and design.
  • Good understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional BI tools beyond Tableau.
  • Familiarity with advanced data visualization techniques.
