About the position

The Senior BI Developer is responsible for participating in all phases of the design and development life cycle of analytic applications and reporting tools, utilizing various BI technology platforms. This role requires maintaining active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and collaborating with engineers to support interactive content. The position also involves mentoring others, managing small projects, and ensuring the quality of BI applications through testing and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of the design and development life cycle of analytic applications and reporting tools.
• Maintain active relationships with customers to determine business requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers for creative ideas for web portals supporting interactive content.
• Analyze and classify complex change requests, and review and evaluate possible enhancements.
• Work with the development team to develop and define application scope and prepare functional and/or technical specifications.
• Mentor others on coding standards, perform code reviews, and manage small projects.
• Develop and perform system testing, fix defects identified during testing, and re-execute unit tests to validate results.
• Assist in developing training documentation including proactive identification of additional needs and enhancements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working with business intelligence applications.
• Subject matter expert for one or more BI applications.
• Experience with troubleshooting of BI applications.
• Proven experience in leading small projects within BI application support.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working for CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services).
