About the position

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer plays a pivotal role within the IT department, focusing on the implementation of business intelligence solutions and managing enterprise reporting. This position is essential for providing analytical support across various departments, ensuring that data governance initiatives are upheld, and acting as a liaison between IT and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing multiple priorities, demonstrating a high level of motivation, and taking ownership of systems and processes with minimal oversight. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Data Governance and Architecture to develop and execute strategic goals. You will engage with various business stakeholders and leadership to foster collaboration and support between IT and the business. Additionally, you will work alongside other IT and analytics team members to deliver effective solutions that meet organizational needs. Your responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of business intelligence, from requirements gathering and design to implementation. You will lead projects, integrating new data sources into the enterprise data warehouse using Azure Data Factory and other modern ELT tools. You will also create dimensional models and manage Analysis Services Tabular Models and Power BI Data Sets, ensuring that end-user solutions are accessible and effective for analysts and corporate staff alike. As the Power BI Administrator, you will manage workspaces and applications while implementing security best practices, serving as the corporate reporting subject matter expert. Moreover, you will perform ad hoc analyses, identify performance patterns, and communicate core business processes throughout the organization. Your role will also involve developing processes to ensure data integrity and establishing terminology standards in collaboration with the business. Regular training sessions for the business around reporting and KPIs will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that all stakeholders are equipped with the necessary knowledge to utilize data effectively.

Responsibilities

• Implement end to end business intelligence solutions solving real-world business problems (requirements gathering, design, and implementation)
• Lead business intelligence projects while utilizing other team members such as ELT Developer, EDW Developer, Quality Control Manager
• Integrate new data sources into the enterprise data warehouse via Azure Data Factory and other modern ELT tools
• Create dimensional models/star schemas via SQL (views, tables, stored procedures)
• Manage Analysis Services Tabular Models and Power BI Data Sets
• Create end user solutions such as SQL tables and views for analysts to query, Power BI reports for corporate staff, excel reports
• Serve as Power BI Administrator for the organization - manage workspaces/applications and implement security best practices
• Serve as the corporate reporting subject matter expert
• Design and develop new report content, following design and visualization best practices
• Perform ad hoc analysis for the business as needed
• Identify performance patterns, root causes and future business opportunities
• Perform QA and UAT of other team members work
• Communicate core business processes and concepts throughout the organization
• Develop processes and procedures to ensure data integrity
• Develop terminology standards in conjunction with the business
• Act as a liaison between IT and the business
• Help guide IT and leadership decisions with insights gained from working closely with the business
• Conduct regular training sessions for the business around reporting and KPIs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or related field
• Strong excel usage and knowledge
• 4+ years hands-on experience with analytics like: Campaign Marketing, Root Cause analytics, Return on Investment (ROI), forecasting, Direct Marketing, Search Engine Marketing (SEM/SEO)
• 4+ years SQL experience
• 4+ years experience with Power BI
• Dental service organization experience preferred
• Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution
• Strong customer service focus with proven ability to connect with customers, understand needs and deliver results
• Excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to document methodologies, requirements, and processes
• Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking skills
• Willing to be a positive mentor and guide to the team sharing knowledge and experience where needed
• Proven track record of consistency, accuracy and accountability
