About the position

The Senior Business Operations Manager for HR at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a pivotal role focused on enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness within the HR team. This position supports AWS's national security customers and is responsible for driving transformational initiatives, ensuring data integrity, and simplifying processes to accommodate the growing complexity of the organization. The ideal candidate will leverage their analytical skills and experience in program management to influence decision-making and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive operational success by developing and executing work-backwards plans for key strategic deliverables.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to maintain reporting dashboards, ensuring data integrity across HR, security, recruiting, and business teams.
  • Own programs and strategic partnerships to transition processes from scrappy solutions to stable ones.
  • Streamline the compensation bonus program for efficiency and timely delivery.
  • Drive consistency in operational metrics across HR, recruiting, and business teams.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to build reporting and provide actionable insights.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience in HR shared services, IT services, operations, and/or compliance
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and data cleansing.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • 2+ years of experience with data visualization and reporting tools
  • Experience working cross-functionally with tech teams
  • 3+ years of experience developing operating and long-range plans
  • Advanced writing skills
  • Strong analytical thinking skills and sound business judgment.
