About the position

The Senior Business Operations Specialist - Contracts at Canvas, Inc. is responsible for providing contractual support to the Aviation Turbine Engines (ATE) Project Office. This role involves reviewing and applying the Federal Acquisition Regulation and other regulatory requirements, preparing contract packages, and managing acquisition plans and schedules. The specialist will also provide strategic direction and problem-solving support for contract execution management, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provides contractual support to the Aviation Turbine Engines (ATE) Project Office mission.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and applies the Federal Acquisition Regulation and applicable statutory/regulatory requirements in support of all the assigned ATE requirements.
  • Prepares and executes complete contract requirement packages in support of all assigned ATE requirements.
  • Prepares and maintains acquisition plans, appropriate milestone charts and related schedules for all the assigned ATE requirements.
  • Supports, develops, coordinates, and configures contract requirements packages, contract schedules, and applicable documentation.
  • Develops, tracks, and staffs all milestone documentation for all assigned ATE requirements.
  • Provides and implements strategic direction and problem solving in support of all assigned ATE requirements programs regarding contract execution management.
  • Performs acquisition planning, identification of requirements, and updates to changes in requirements.
  • Identifies and recommends solutions to procurement problems and inappropriate lead times.
  • Justifies unique procurement actions and recommends solutions.

Requirements

  • Expertise and in-depth knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation, policies, ethics, and all other applicable statutory/regulatory documentation as it relates to the contract acquisition process.
  • Experience in acquisition planning, creating, and staffing contract requirements packages.
  • Contract experience in managing requirements and providing acquisition support.
  • MA/MS Degree and over 10 years of relevant work experience.

  • Strong working relationships with ATE and ACC personnel and management, support organizations, stakeholders, and peers through effective communication.
  • Ability to manage complex acquisition projects simultaneously and provide innovative solutions to acquisition issues.
  • Proficiency in program management tools, spreadsheets, and databases for contract status management.
  • Ability to evaluate, research, report, and manage contractual issues effectively.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to organizational and requirement changes.
