About the position

The Senior Business & Research Analyst at Prince George's Community College is responsible for leading the business intelligence operations within the Research, Assessment, and Effectiveness Office. This role involves managing the design, development, and maintenance of data warehouses and models, utilizing various enterprise business intelligence tools to meet the complex data needs of the college. The analyst will work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable reports and analyses, ensuring compliance with institutional reporting mandates.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain business intelligence operations for the Research, Assessment, and Effectiveness Office.
  • Manage the design, development, and maintenance of data warehouses and data models.
  • Utilize enterprise business intelligence tools, SQL, SPSS, STATA, and Microsoft software suite for data analysis.
  • Collaborate with college stakeholders to understand and translate complex business needs into reports and analyses.
  • Support the preparation and submission of institutional reporting mandated by federal and state agencies.
  • Design, develop, and test complex reports and data extracts using the college's business intelligence system.
  • Create and maintain data models to simplify reporting and support front-end BI tools.
  • Design and publish data visualizations and interactive dashboards.
  • Manage the overall architecture and design of the data warehouse.
  • Train college faculty and staff on the use of the business intelligence system.
  • Oversee large-scale data collection projects and implement longitudinal research.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social science, computer technology, management information systems, or a related field.
  • Three years of full-time experience in data analysis of large data sets, preferably longitudinal data sets.
  • Two years of experience in higher education preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining data warehouses and models.
  • Knowledge of relational database systems and ability to create, query, and maintain large data sets.
  • Experience with statistical software for data manipulation and analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with enterprise reporting systems, preferably Business Objects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively in a team environment.
