About the position

The Senior Business Systems Analyst/Project Manager at Ekman Associates, Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the lead Project Manager (PM) by assisting with various tactical project management tasks. This position is primarily focused on ensuring that project deliverables are timely, effective, and easily understandable. The responsibilities include preparing project plans, tracking tasks, conducting follow-ups, preparing status reports, setting up meetings, and taking notes during discussions. The role also encompasses significant Business Systems Analysis (BSA) responsibilities, which involve performing assessments for vendor selection, gathering requirements, creating scoring charts, and coordinating with both vendors and internal teams to support the implementation of selected systems. The projects undertaken in this role are diverse, including regulatory-related system selection and quality-related projects, along with other small projects and coordination efforts as assigned. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver concise project deliverables that include project plans, presentations, budget reviews, analyses of cross-project dependencies, risk assessments and mitigation strategies, key performance indicators (KPIs), and effective communication with stakeholders regarding project status. The ability to translate technical rollouts and features into language that is accessible to non-technical audiences is essential for this position. In addition to project management tasks, the Senior Business Systems Analyst will support the implementation of selected systems by performing requirements gathering, testing, and other related activities. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a detail-oriented approach to ensure data accuracy. The candidate must be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and possess strong organizational skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver timely, effective, easily understandable, concise project deliverables including project plans, presentations, budget reviews, cross-project dependencies, risks analyses and mitigation, key performance indicators (KPIs), stakeholder coordination and status communication.
  • Perform Assessments (Vendor selection) - Requirements Gathering, Scoring charts, Coordination with vendors and internal teams etc.
  • Support implementation of selected systems - Perform Requirements gathering, testing etc.
  • Perform some tactical project management activities.
  • Communicate across audiences, effectively understanding and utilizing escalation paths, and updating stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate technical rollouts and features to non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in business, computer science preferred or other technical field or appropriate work experience.
  • 5+ years of applicable experience in a technology environment, preferably for a large company.
  • Demonstrated success in the delivery of multiple projects.
  • Experience with Med Device/Pharma Regulatory related system implementations a plus.
  • Strong Business Systems Analysis skills.
  • Experience managing smaller projects.
  • Ability to conduct requirement gathering, create documentation, and interview stakeholders, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
