About the position

The Senior Business Systems Analyst role at Intuit involves applying revenue recognition principles and managing revenue and billing systems within the Accounting Organization. The position focuses on improving efficiencies and addressing financial risks to support business growth, requiring strong cross-functional skills and a deep understanding of revenue accounting applications.

Responsibilities

  • Apply, enforce, and execute the Company's revenue recognition policy related to revenue accounting.
  • Understand the end-to-end operational, financial, and systemic environment affecting financial impacts.
  • Review and analyze the appropriateness of accounting principles and systems supporting revenue recognition.
  • Articulate results and variances to management, demonstrating an understanding of root causes.
  • Collaborate with business unit partners, revenue recognition leads, tech partners, and auditors on accounting matters.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement accounting models for proper revenue recognition.
  • Streamline systems and reporting tools for efficient and accurate revenue recording.
  • Participate in systems upgrades and enhancements as necessary.
  • Stay updated on evolving Accounting Standards and incorporate changes into company policy.
  • Participate in month- and quarter-end close processes and related responsibilities.
  • Maintain deferred revenue account reconciliations consistent with GAAP and corporate policies.
  • Establish controls to ensure compliance with company policy and GAAP in revenue accounting execution.
  • Prepare and maintain reports for senior management and schedules for auditors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting with a minimum of 5 years' experience; CPA/MBA highly desirable.
  • Background in understanding and applying software and SaaS revenue accounting literature.
  • Strong analytical thinking, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage complexity and work across functions to achieve large-scale goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle, Siebel/BRM, Revstream, and Qliksense is a plus.
  • Strong PC, worksheet, and word processing skills.
