About the position

The Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will play a crucial role in the complete revamping of the client's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This position involves bridging the gap between business objectives and technological solutions by analyzing complex business processes, documenting requirements, and collaborating with various stakeholders. The BSA will work closely with project managers, developers, and quality assurance analysts to ensure the successful implementation of a centralized solution that integrates multiple legacy systems.

Responsibilities

  • Help determine operational objectives by studying multiple departmental business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements.
  • Work with stakeholders to record current business processes & procedures and provide guidance on developing new ones for each functional area covered by the ERP.
  • Identify, record, and disseminate all aspects of change management with project team, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Analyze and evaluate business processes.
  • Document business and user needs, translating them into proper systems requirements specifications.
  • Consult with personnel from various departments to identify areas for the development of technical solutions to automate and/or improve business processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve operational efficiency.
  • Bridge communication between business users and IT teams, maintaining ongoing communication with management.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of business initiatives and provide guidance to other business analysts.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record of successfully analyzing and documenting complex business processes and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Experience in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements and use cases.
  • Proficiency in modeling techniques, requirements gathering, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in business modeling and analysis tools such as Microsoft Visio, Lucid Chart, or similar.
  • Ability to conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to elicit requirements.
  • Experience in translating business requirements into detailed system specifications.
  • Ability to create process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, and other relevant documentation.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and conduct meetings, as well as draft agendas and meeting minutes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project managers and development teams.
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools and project management software.
  • Ability to interact and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff.
  • Experience in presenting analysis findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong background in at least one area: Fiscal, IT, HR.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in analysis implementation (10 years preferred).

Nice-to-haves

  • 10+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, with a focus on IT development projects.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Database Querying (SQL, Oracle and/or Crystal).
  • Understanding of system development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Understanding of quality assurance processes and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with project management concepts and practices.
  • Task entry and tracking via Jira.
