About the position

As a Senior Business Systems Analyst at Guardant Health, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our Salesforce Platform to support our mission of fighting cancer through data. This position is part of the Business Application Team, where you will collaborate with various stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of needs and objectives. Your work will involve conducting in-depth analyses of existing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and developing detailed process maps. You will also be responsible for translating business requirements into detailed Salesforce technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for implementation by development teams. In this role, you will collaborate with Technical Architects to design scalable and efficient Salesforce solutions that align with business goals. You will provide guidance on best practices for Salesforce configuration and customization, monitor project progress, manage risks, and address any issues that arise to ensure successful project outcomes. As a subject matter expert, you will offer expert guidance and support to users and stakeholders, facilitating user training and ensuring effective adoption of Salesforce solutions. Your responsibilities will also include designing and implementing custom Salesforce objects, fields, validation rules, and other elements as needed. You will lead the development of Proof of Concept (POC) solutions to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of proposed Salesforce features and enhancements. Additionally, you will coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and oversee the Go-Live process, developing test plans and execution strategies to validate that solutions meet business requirements. Continuous improvement will be a key focus, as you identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, proposing enhancements to Salesforce functionality that drive efficiency and support business growth. This role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, including developers, support, and QA, to deliver high-quality Salesforce solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of existing business processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Convert business requirements into detailed Salesforce technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with Technical Architects to design scalable and efficient Salesforce solutions that align with business goals.
  • Monitor progress, manage risks, and address any issues that arise to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, offering expert guidance and support to users and stakeholders.
  • Design and implement custom Salesforce objects, fields, validation rules, and other elements as needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise software as an analyst or product owner.
  • Salesforce Certified (Administrator, Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Business Analyst preferred).
  • Experience with configuration and customization on the Salesforce platform.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce reports and dashboards.
  • Proven capability to understand business strategies and application objectives, and translate those requirements into effective process designs.
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills, with the ability to clearly document requirements and process assets using text, diagrams, and videos.
  • Strong presentation skills; able to optimally present a point of view and clearly articulate the rationale to a variety of team members.
  • A great listener with the ability to communicate with people in diverse roles.
  • Self-directed, with the ability to break down a complex process, assign actions, and lead progress toward a deadline.
  • A resourceful and entrepreneurial thinker who can work through and solve problems.
