The Senior Business Systems Analyst is accountable for understanding the work requested and defining stories with requirements and acceptance criteria that is understood and actionable by a development Full Stack Team. These BAs bring business and technology together by understanding the needs of both and turning them into actionable solutions and designs. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to gather and document business requirements for software development projects. You will analyze and translate business needs into clear and concise user stories, ensuring alignment with project goals. Facilitating communication between business stakeholders and development teams will be crucial to ensure a shared understanding of project requirements. You will conduct analysis of existing systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains, working closely with Quality Assurance and Engineers to review story requirements and validate system functionality. Additionally, you will provide support by troubleshooting issues, conducting impact analysis, and recommending solutions, while also reviewing system enhancements with project stakeholders. Creating flow diagrams and documenting technical solutions will be part of your responsibilities, as well as staying informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in business analysis and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support by troubleshooting issues, conducting impact analysis, and recommending solutions.
  • Review system enhancements with project stakeholders.

  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in business analysis and Agile methodologies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Business Systems Analyst in an Agile Software Development environment or 2+ years as a financial services professional working in data analysis or another technical field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems.
  • Experience leading small projects or mentoring junior analysts.
  • Ability to drive Agile ceremonies.
  • Basic knowledge of APIs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or similar certification
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Prior production support and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge in BDD process.
