About the position

The Senior Buyer in Procurement Business Operations at Clorox will play a crucial role in leading and executing procurement strategies for the Kingsford and Litter brands. This position focuses on driving cost leadership, supply resiliency, innovation, and sustainability while ensuring effective supplier performance and addressing operational challenges. The role requires collaboration with internal and external partners to align business needs with procurement strategies, ultimately delivering value across the direct materials and external manufacturing spend portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Develop and expand functional and transferrable skills using procurement tools and techniques to deliver value.
• Lead, support, and drive procurement strategies across Kingsford and Litter brands, including Cost, Supply Resiliency, Innovation, and Sustainability.
• Manage supplier performance, including onboarding new suppliers and evaluating performance across KPIs.
• Co-own ongoing supplier governance and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) with Category Managers.
• Develop and own action plans to address short- and medium-term issues related to Services and Quality Performance.
• Lead root cause analysis processes to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Act as a bridge between internal and external partners to ensure business needs are reflected in category strategies.
• Support actions required to address P2P issues, such as payments and invoices.
• Plan and lead sourcing initiatives for Wood Waste (Hog Fuel) commodity, including developing a long-term sourcing strategy and managing supply contracts.

Requirements

• Ability to drive change and performance improvement through teamwork.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
• Knowledge/Experience with Project Management and Sourcing/Procurement tools and methodologies.
• Strong initiative and ownership of performance standards.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with multiple levels of management.
• Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, MRP Systems (SAP), and PowerPoint.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Business, Science, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
• 3-5 years of supply chain or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience in a matrixed environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Sourcing/Procurement experience is a plus but not required.
• Experience operating in a manufacturing environment.
