About the position

The Senior Buyer at HydraForce, a Bosch Rexroth Company, is responsible for driving strategic sourcing initiatives across North America and foreign markets. This role involves negotiating contracts, optimizing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with procurement processes. The position is hybrid, requiring three days in the office each week, and focuses on developing procurement strategies, managing complex contracts, and fostering strong supplier partnerships to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Driving strategic sourcing initiatives and developing procurement strategies.
  • Managing complex contracts and leading supplier negotiations.
  • Conducting supplier evaluations and negotiations to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  • Overseeing the procurement process from sourcing suppliers to contract execution and delivery.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Analyzing quotations received and recommending suppliers.
  • Managing all commercial aspects of assigned supplier relations, including agreements and performance monitoring.
  • Reviewing existing contracts and planning annual price negotiations for cost savings.
  • Sourcing materials from suppliers at the lowest cost while considering quality and reliability.
  • Participating in the annual business planning process for responsible commodities.
  • Being an integrated member of the worldwide commodity team, which may include international travel.
  • Providing guidance to other buyers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or similar discipline, or 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • 10+ years in production planning, scheduling, or buying within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data and identify trends.
  • Familiarity with IT systems used in Logistics, such as ERP systems like SAP and data mining tools.

  • Experience with data analysis tools like Power BI.
