About the position

The Senior Buyer at RTX Corporation is responsible for sourcing and acquiring both direct and indirect services and materials. This role involves managing supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with various regulations, and overseeing the procurement process from requisition to purchase order delivery. The Senior Buyer will work closely with multiple departments to ensure timely delivery and optimal pricing of goods and services, while also analyzing market trends and negotiating contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods and services.
  • Select, evaluate, and qualify suppliers to meet ISO-9001, ITAR Compliance, and Government compliance.
  • Manage the procurement process from requisition to P.O. delivery using SAP ERP system.
  • Resolve delivery/receiving and accounting discrepancies.
  • Handle RTV (Return to Vendor) and RMA processes.
  • Clarify specifications through Engineering and Quality for materials to be procured.
  • Assist Engineering, Program, and Planning in resolving issues regarding new materials and sources.
  • Research and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, generate NDA, LTA/MTA, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and quality of products to ensure best value for the organization.
  • Collaborate with other departments to forecast demand, plan inventory levels, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum of 2 years of prior procurement or purchasing experience.
  • Experience with SAP procurement and/or finance systems.
  • U.S Citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • MRP, Word, Excel, and PC skills, and a working knowledge of record keeping.
  • Experience with offshore procurements in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • Working knowledge of FAR and DFAR.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently, work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Track record of cost savings and process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in vendor management, supplier relationship management, score cards, and KPI.
