About the position
The Senior CAD Director will lead a team of CAD Designers in a prominent Engineering Firm in Florida, focusing on Civil Engineering, Surveying and Mapping, Construction Engineering, Grants and Funding, and Design Planning. This role involves providing design assistance, training, and guidance, while ensuring the accuracy and compliance of CAD drawings with project specifications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CAD management and a strong understanding of engineering design principles.
Responsibilities
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the CAD design team.
- Oversee the use of CAD software, establishing policies and best practices for productivity.
- Manage day-to-day CAD functions to ensure project timelines are met.
- Interpret and incorporate design specifications, building codes, and technical documents to produce accurate 3-D models.
- Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to resolve design challenges and ensure project feasibility.
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback and project requirements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all drawings and documentation.
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technology.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant CAD management experience within an engineering firm.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
- Previous experience in a management role guiding and mentoring junior designers.
- Experience in recruiting new team members, training staff, and overseeing performance reviews.
- Strong understanding of building design, specifications, codes, and structural analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
