About the position

The Senior CAD Drafter at SAIC will support the engineering, development, integration, and sustainment of satellite ground systems. This role involves collaborating with senior systems engineers to produce and maintain drawing packages according to ANSI standards, ensuring clarity, completeness, and accuracy in all technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed drawings using CAD techniques from sketches, layouts, or notes provided by engineering.
• Digitize, edit, and revise engineering drawings of components, parts, circuits, structures, and assemblies.
• Check drawing plots for correctness and conformance to standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and configuration analysts regarding model accuracy and drafting standards.

Requirements

• Must have TS with SCI eligibility and be able to maintain a TS/SCI eligibility.
• Must have 9 or more years' relevant experience, with at least 7 years in CAD design/drafting.
• Experience directly working with drafting of systems designs and/or systems engineering.
• Must be experienced in drawing software, including Visio and AutoCAD.
• Experience creating, updating, and maintaining drawing packages.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Proficient in Visio and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Cameo and ASME Y14.100 Drawing Standards.
• Experience with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
• PLM/PDM experience.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-31000B.
• Ability to ensure the correct level of detail for design, prototype, and production.
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.
