About the position

The Senior CAD Drafter position at SAIC involves supporting the engineering, development, integration, and sustainment of satellite ground systems. The role requires collaboration with senior systems engineers to produce drawing packages that adhere to ANSI standards, while also providing technical assistance in creating, updating, and maintaining these packages. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in reviewing drawings for accuracy and compliance, as well as the ability to identify and recommend improvements to existing designs.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed drawings using CAD techniques from sketches, layouts, or notes provided by engineering.
• Digitize, edit, and revise engineering drawings of components, parts, circuits, structures, and assemblies.
• Check drawing plots for correctness and conformance to standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and configuration analysts regarding model accuracy and drafting standards.

Requirements

• Must have TS with SCI eligibility and be able to maintain a TS/SCI eligibility.
• 9 or more years of relevant experience, with at least 7 years in CAD design/drafting.
• Experience working with drafting of systems designs and/or systems engineering.
• Proficient in drawing software, including Visio and AutoCAD.
• Experience creating, updating, and maintaining drawing packages.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with Cameo.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.100 Drawing Standards.
• Experience with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
• PLM/PDM experience.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-31000B.
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.
