About the position

The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) Career Center is seeking a part-time Team Lead, Career Coach to oversee and mentor part-time career coaches. This role focuses on enhancing career services for students and alumni through career exploration, development initiatives, and workshops. The Team Lead will also collaborate with Career Center staff to create targeted programming and ensure high-quality coaching services.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and mentor the Part-Time Career Coaches, providing guidance and support.
  • Develop training programs and processes for part-time career coaches.
  • Ensure coaching sessions meet high standards of quality and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Career Center leadership to implement strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and facilitate workshops on career-related topics.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of workshops and programs based on feedback.
  • Provide one-on-one and group career coaching sessions to students and alumni.
  • Guide students in developing resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles.
  • Conduct mock interviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Promote career development resources within the Career Coach Team.
  • Maintain the Career Center's online job board and digital resources.
  • Coordinate with Career Center staff for successful program implementation.
  • Maintain accurate records of coaching sessions and workshops.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Career Counseling, Human Resources, Psychology, Education).
  • Relevant industry experience in fields related to students' career interests.
  • Experience in developing and implementing training programs.
  • Previous experience in career counseling or advising roles.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of career development theories and job search strategies.
  • Familiarity with career-related tools and platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Career Development, or a related field.
  • Experience working with college students and young professionals.
  • Certification in career coaching or related areas.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
