The George Washington University (GWU), established in 1821, is the largest institution of higher education in the District of Columbia. The GW School of Business (GWSB) is one of ten schools within the GWU system, providing business education at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The F. David Fowler Career Center (FDFCC) is dedicated to supporting students and alumni in developing lifelong career management skills and fostering partnerships among students, alumni, faculty, and employers to facilitate rewarding careers. The FDFCC is currently seeking a Senior Career Coach for the Consulting360 program. The Senior Career Coach will primarily focus on building an experiential learning program designed to equip students with practical industry knowledge necessary for launching a successful career in consulting upon graduation. This program aims to enhance students' understanding of various consulting roles, improve their interview skills, expand their professional networks, and ensure they are market-ready. The Senior Career Coach will establish relationships with alumni in consulting positions, faculty from the business school, and other professionals to develop programming and workshops that support these goals. Key responsibilities include providing one-on-one career coaching to students, which encompasses assessing their goals and interests, reviewing resumes and cover letters, preparing them for interviews, and assisting with job and internship searches. The coach will also ensure that students are prepared for the job market by providing relevant insights into current market trends. In addition to career coaching, the Senior Career Coach will design, develop, and implement a two-semester experiential program aimed at developing consulting skill sets through group workshops and presentations. This role involves building relationships with faculty, alumni, and industry experts to facilitate workshops and learning sessions, as well as collaborating with employer relations colleagues to cultivate relationships with companies that recruit for consulting positions on campus. The coach will manage all student activities related to Consulting360, oversee administrative aspects of the program, and report on student employment outcomes. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, reflecting the evolving needs of the program.
