About the position

The Senior Case Manager RN for Women's Health at UnitedHealth Group is a remote position focused on supporting various programs related to fertility, maternity, neonatal care, and obstetrics. This role emphasizes improving health outcomes through effective case management, innovative problem-solving, and leadership within the team. The position requires a strong commitment to compliance with healthcare regulations and company policies while fostering a supportive environment for clients and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Positively represent the Company to both internal and external customers; always maintain a professional and courteous manner
  • Uphold the Optum core values in the conduct of work
  • Adhere to Company privacy guidelines; ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies, approved standards, and applicable laws and regulations; implement corrective actions as warranted
  • Prepares and participates in client audits
  • Develops innovative approaches to support Optum Women's and Children's Health
  • Serves as a leader/ mentor to other case managers/ team members
  • Anticipates customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them
  • Serves as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues
  • Solves complex problems and develops innovative solutions
  • Performs complex conceptual analyses
  • Reviews work performed by others and provides recommendations for improvement
  • Forecasts and plans resource requirements
  • Authorizes deviations from standards
  • May lead functional or segment teams or projects
  • Provides explanations and information to others on the most complex issues
  • Motivates and inspires other team members
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication with staff and community partners
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • BSN
  • Unrestricted Compact RN license in their home state, and be able to obtain California, District of Columbia, Illinois, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania RN Licenses
  • 5+ years in perinatal/obstetrics is imperative; knowledge/experience in high-risk pregnancies is even better
  • Solid technology knowledge requirements to include desktop/laptop computer proficiency; use of analytical software, Microsoft Office, Outlook (internet and email)
  • Proven ability to maintain current knowledge base in related fields of perinatal homecare
  • Proven excellent interpersonal communications skills (written/verbal) and the ability to relate well to all levels within the organization

  • Management and leadership experience in team-based concepts and conflict resolution
  • Knowledge of disease management
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities
  • Proven skills to deal with patient/family conflict resolution and grievances
