About the position

The Senior Caseworker is responsible for conducting personal interviews to assess client eligibility for services, providing guidance on policies and procedures, and assisting clients in navigating available resources. This role involves developing and implementing individual service plans, monitoring client progress, and collaborating with service providers to ensure comprehensive support. The Senior Caseworker also conducts home visits, maintains confidentiality of case records, and may be required to testify in court regarding cases.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct personal interviews to obtain information and determine eligibility for services.
  • Explain and interpret policies and procedures related to requested services.
  • Assist clients in completing applications and making collateral contacts with relevant offices.
  • Identify related needs and provide auxiliary services to clients and families.
  • Monitor, review, and authorize services provided to clients.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with service providers for follow-up and one-on-one services.
  • Refer clients to available resources for assistance.
  • Perform case reviews in coordination with service providers.
  • Develop and implement individual service plans based on needs assessments.
  • Conduct periodic evaluations and follow-ups on client progress.
  • Investigate cases as necessary.
  • Prepare case narratives to establish case records and maintain confidentiality.
  • Document information pertinent to client progress and assessments.
  • Arrange and conduct home visits with clients and/or families.
  • Counsel clients on self-sufficiency, budgeting, personal hygiene, education, and employment.
  • File cases with courts and provide testimony when required.
  • Attend meetings, training, and workshops.

Requirements

  • An Associate's degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in social services or case management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess a valid state driver's license.
  • A favorable background investigation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluency in both the Navajo and English languages.
