About the position

The Senior Center Director is responsible for planning and coordinating the daily operations of the Hyrum Senior Citizen Center. This part-time role involves developing policies, conducting needs assessments, and fostering relationships with seniors to enhance program offerings and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain policy and procedures for senior center operations and programs.
  • Conduct needs assessments to determine programs and activities that best meet the desired interests of the local seniors.
  • Develop new programs or redefine existing programs to meet assessment objectives.
  • Plan, organize, and direct the daily operations of the senior citizen center.
  • Schedule various functions to promote senior citizen activity.
  • Monitor use of facilities to maximize availability.
  • Promote the Center's programs and activities through local media to better acquaint seniors with available programs.
  • Develop and foster a close working relationship with seniors; develop and coordinate special programs for senior citizen center patrons.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Graduation from college with a bachelor's degree in social sciences, gerontology, or related field is preferred.
  • Four (4) years of experience performing above or related duties.
  • Food Handlers Certificate.
  • Utah State Food Handlers Permit.
  • Serv Safe Certified.
  • CPR and First Aid Certified.
  • Possess a valid Utah Driver's License.
