About the position

The Senior Channel Marketing Manager at Kao will be responsible for creating and implementing trade marketing strategies that align with the company's business objectives and support sales growth. This role involves leading the design and execution of commercial plans to optimize success within both Direct and Indirect sales channels for brands such as Goldwell, KMS, and Kerasilk, utilizing an omni-channel approach.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute regional marketing assets for Indirect Distribution and Kao Direct market to meet annual sales budget and profit margin.
  • Establish relationships with Kao Sales Leadership, distributor management team, and other channel customers to develop expertise in salon marketing programs.
  • Manage 2 direct reports responsible for planning and executing trade promotions, including pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and merchandising initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the brand team to establish promotional period themes and align with distributor sales and merchandising teams.
  • Develop and execute the Distributor Buyers Guide and the Salon Business Builder in collaboration with the brand team.
  • Develop and deploy Kao Academy and Education initiatives for US Salon.
  • Work cross-functionally with SCM and Finance to reduce liability with excess inventory/exposure.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience preferred; Master of Business Administration degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years of professional experience, preferably in CPG/Beauty.
  • 5+ years of Trade/Category Marketing experience with retailers/distributors preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Salesforce, and Adobe.
