About the position

The Senior Chemical Engineer will play a crucial role in the Polymers Process Development group within the Plastics & Circularity Development Division. This position focuses on driving initiatives related to circularity and new product development, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations while supporting manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Drive process improvement in a manufacturing environment while maintaining safety, regulatory, change management, and environmental compliance requirements.
• Provide timely assistance to manufacturing to resolve production processing problems, support cost savings initiatives, and advance safety programs.
• Demonstrate safety leadership within the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technology, manufacturing, businesses, HSES, and Engineering to drive process improvement and business initiatives.
• Enhance professional growth and technical awareness by keeping abreast of technical literature and pursuing relevant training.
• Communicate project needs, value, priorities, and decisions to management and project stakeholders to ensure project success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or higher in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Five or more years of experience in a chemical plant manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated functional and technical knowledge and skills to perform the job at a high level of accomplishment.
• Ability to solve difficult problems and work well with others.
• Experience leading and serving on team projects.
• Dedication to meeting expectations of internal and external customers.
• Strong active listening, clear and concise speaking, and writing skills.
• Ability to make decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment.
• Familiarity with industrial plant environments and equipment.
