About the position

The Senior Citrix Systems Engineer - Network/Virtualization at Humana is a key member of a high-performing engineering team focused on delivering reliable and secure virtual access to approximately 20,000 concurrent users. This role involves collaborating with various teams to develop resilient access to virtual environments, implementing load balancing best practices, and supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Participates as a member of a High-Performing Engineering team, focusing on providing reliable and secure virtual access to ~20K concurrent users.
  • Partners with Network, Security, and Offshore business partners to develop resilient and secure access to existing Virtual App and Desktop environments.
  • Develops technical roadmap to provide network access to cloud-based virtual servers and desktops.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with GSLB and implements load balancing best practices.
  • Familiarity with configuration, installation, and maintenance of Citrix Provisioning Services and Citrix NetScaler.
  • Delivers solutions in support of Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required due to Department of Defense contract.
  • Approval for government security clearance (eQIP) is necessary.
  • 7+ years of systems engineering experience at the enterprise level with strong knowledge of Highly Available Citrix environments.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience diagnosing and addressing end-user response time issues.
  • 5+ years of experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 2203, including both persistent and non-persistent implementations.
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud deployments of virtual compute solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience with Azure AD Multi-Factor Authentication.
  • 5+ years of hands-on load balancing experience.
  • Skill to effectively analyze and solve problems.
  • Skill in software installation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of multiple operating systems and related utilities and hardware.
  • Knowledge of storage management.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and network troubleshooting tools (WireShark, NetMon, etc.).
  • Knowledge of technical writing principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with VMWare ESX Hypervisor.
  • Familiarity with Citrix Profile Manager.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, clients, and the public.
  • Self-starter with a passion for contributing to an organization focused on improving consumer experiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • Experience working in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment.
  • Experience with PowerBI and infrastructure analytics.
  • Citrix Certified Professional - Networking (CCP-N).
  • Citrix Certified Professional - Virtualization (CCP-V).
  • Automation skills.
